Welcome! You’re among friends at Pine Grove Community Church. We’re the young and old, the experienced Christians, the brand new Christians, and those just curious about Jesus Christ. We’re families, singles, students, kids and couples. Wherever you’ve come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine Grove! Please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade at the Family Life Center following worship.

 

Guests are requested to fill out a welcome card at the Welcome Center where you can also receive an information packet. If you are a regular attendee of Pine Grove we would like to provide you with a mailbox. Please submit your request to the church office.

Nursery care is offered during the a.m. service in the Church Basement for infants and toddlers through age 2. Please honor the age limit. Please meet your children at the nursery area immediately following worship.

CHURCH FAMILY

 

As a church family we send out prayers for the Buikema family with the passing of Ed’s father, Jerry Buikema May God’s comfort richly enfold this family. 

 

We also mourn with the Amacher family with the passing Alonzo Amacher May the Lord wrap this family with his comforting presence.

 

Thank you to everyone that prayed, sent cards, visited, and brought goodies Thank you also to the people who worked on and prayed over the prayer quilt that was given to me God is good!

YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Senior High Youth Group will meet again on Sunday, November 22, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

 

Junior High FOCUS group will meet again on Saturday, December 12 This will be the Christmas Celebration There will be more information to come.

If you make a decision during this service to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up a YES pack. This pack is designed to help you get started on your walk with Christ.

 

Coffee after the morning service will be in the Family Life Center.

 

Our offerings this morning will be for Pine Grove Ministries and the Family Life Center Debt Reduction Fund.

 

Last week’s offering totals: Pine Grove Ministries, $3,047.00; Family Life Center, $77.00; Benevolence, $175.00; Food Truck, $50.00 Thank you very much for your generous giving.

 

At the congregational meeting last Sunday Steve Tubergen and John Veenstra were selected as elders and Gary Boone and Shelli Kamp as deaconsWayne Hubers was unanimously affirmed for another year as administrative elderInstallation will take place next Sunday morning.

 

The food truck is in need of plastic bags If you have any you can offer them, please leave them in back of church by the Welcome Center. Thank you.

 

A New Members Class will meet Today and November 29 from 2:00-4:00 p.m., for those desiring to profess their faith or join the church or just wanting to know more about it. Contact Pastor Bill for necessary materials. If these times are unworkable for you, please contact Pastor Bill to discuss other arrangements.

 

Regular attendees are encouraged to get a mail slot for easier communication If you are interested in getting one, please contact Rebekah Gerwig after the service, or leave your name on a slip of paper in her mailbox This request needs to be made by Tuesday, so they can all be ordered at the same time Thank you.

Senior Lunch at Pine Grove Community Church

Canning is (mostly) done the larders are blessed with sustenance for the coming winter The 18th of Novemberwe invite our friends age 60 or older to spend a moment with us to reflect on the past year’s events and blessings A meal at Noon with all the traditional Thanksgiving delights awaits each and every one of our guests The delicious aroma of this meal wafts from the corner of M-82 and Beech, just 5 miles West of Howard City.

 

Gift Tag Project:  This year we are doing two different things. We will have lists of items needed for our local food pantries to choose from. You do not need to get everything on the list. These lists will be available today, 11/15/09 to Sunday 11/29/09. The items will be split equally between Helping Hands and Love, INC. We will also have a few families from Alpha Family Center to buy gifts forThese gift tags will be available Sunday 11/22/09 & Sunday 11/29/09 to pick from. The donated items and the gifts with tags need to be at church no later than 12/6/09. When you bring them in, please place them underneath the mail boxes in the foyer of the churchThank you for your help in stocking the shelves at the food pantries and buying gifts for families that are in need.

 

Grant Christian School will offer a CHRISTMAS CELBERATION for the whole community on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 6-8 p.m. They will have a live nativity, Christmas carolers, jingle-belled horse pulled wagon rides, tree sales, lights, music, hot chocolate & goodies, and kid crafts. Start inviting friends and family now!

 

Howard City Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

-Special Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 11th at 6:30 PM at the Howard City Depot
-Remember a loved one or pay tribute to someone living with a crystal angel ornament.
Ornaments cost $15 each and the name of each individual remembered will be announced at the ceremony and the ornament will be engraved with the loved one's name on it and will be presented to the family.  
-A live nativity will be presented by Bethel Lutheran Church
-Coffee, Hot Cocoa and cookies will be donated by Charlene's Cafe.
-Your gift will celebrate the life of loved ones during the holiday season and help the Friends of Reynolds Township Library and Still Waters Ministry Center to provide services and programs for your family, friends and neighbors.

Spaghetti Dinner & 50/50 Raffle

Will be held on Saturday, December 12th from 4-7 p.m.. at the Maple Valley Complex in Trufant (old Trufant Elementary School)

Cost:  $6 for 13 yrs old and up
           $4 for 4 - 12 yr olds
           Free for anyone 3 yrs. old and under
All proceeds will go to Still Waters Ministry Center.

 

Our Church Christmas Program for this year is scheduled for the morning service of December 13, 2009 It will be a worship service of the Word and Music that celebrated the Birth of Christ. 

 

The senior lunch for December will be held on December 30.

 

The Senior High youth group is selling calendars again this year They will be $7.00 a piece If you have any questions, please contact Paul Brock or Linda Bonnier.
