Love In the Name of Christ is starting a garden ministry called Growing Love. We have 10 families who are enrolled to be gardeners. We are in need of mentors to work with these families one-on-one. During this mentorship you will work with them in their garden plot and, more importantly, you will be able to share the love of the Lord and minister to the spiritual needs of family as well. This is a great ministry opportunity to reach our community for Christ. Please contact Robin VeltKamp (231-250-8919) if you are interested in being part of this wonderful opportunity and ministry.

Baby Grand Piano – Thank you to those who have contributed to this project so far. A total of $5,090 has been received toward the approximate $7,500 needed leaving a remaining balance of about $2,400. Donations of any size are appreciated. Because of the contributions received to this point, the refinishing has been completed and the mechanical restoration has begun.

The initial bulletin announcement about this project is repeated here for those of you who may not have seen it previously: The Council is soliciting funds to restore a used Baby Grand piano that was recently donated to the church by one of our members. It was owned by the donor’s family since it was purchased new in the early 1900s for her grandmother on her 16th birthday, then passed on to the donor’s mother, and the donor has now given it to the church on behalf of the family. Because of its age, the piano needs to be restored mechanically, and needs to be refinished. It is a quality brand piano, and a professional piano technician has estimated that it can be restored mechanically for about $6,000 which will make it serviceable for another fifty to sixty years.  A professional refinisher has offered to refinish it for $1,500. If you would like more information or would like to contribute to this project, you are encouraged to contact Wayne Hubers, Treasurer, or Beth Syperda, Assistant Treasurer, or place your contribution in the collection designated for the Piano Fund.
