Welcome! You’re among
friends at Pine Grove Community Church. We’re the

come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine
Grove! Please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade following worship.
Guests are invited to fill out a pew card and drop it in the
offering plate or at the Welcome Center in the lobby when you stop for an
information packet. If you are a regular attendee of Pine Grove
we would like to provide you with a mailbox and / or a name tag. Please submit
your request to the church office. God bless you and your family.
Nursery
care is offered during the a.m. service in the Church Basement for infants and
toddlers through age 2. Please honor the age limit. Please meet your children
at the nursery area immediately following worship.
Children
age 3 to 6 are encouraged to participate with Children’s Worship. Children
are dismissed after the Children’s Message, and can go downstairs to worship.
Please honor the age limit. Parents: Please meet your children
downstairs, after worship, unless they stay for Sunday School.
All
songs can be found in the Celebration Hymnal, unless
otherwise specified; and reprinted with permission by CCLI #649460.
CHURCH FAMILY
“Thank you for your prayers, cards and concerns this winter. The season has been long but God’s love and His faithfulness does endure forever! I, (Leslye) am now 20 weeks and feeling better. This week was my return to full time work week. The baby is growing bigger and stronger every day. Our recent ultrasound indicated that everything is progressing as it should be. She is wonderful and Brighton is ecstatic about having a little sister! Peter and I appreciate your faithfulness to prayer and I am very grateful for the prayer shawl ministry. Words cannot express the power I felt as many of you prayed over the quilts-I use mine daily! Thank you again! We love you!” In Christ, Peter and Leslye Fries

Baby Grand Piano – The Council is soliciting funds
to restore a used Baby Grand piano that was recently donated to the church by
one of our members. It was owned by the donor’s family since it was purchased
new in the early 1900s for her grandmother on her 16th birthday,
then passed on to the donor’s mother, and the donor has now given it to the
church on behalf of the family. Because of its age, the piano needs to be
restored mechanically, and needs to be refinished. It is a quality brand piano,
and a professional piano technician has estimated that it can be restored
mechanically for about $6,000 which will make it serviceable for another fifty
to sixty years. A professional refinisher has offered to refinish it for
$1,500. That makes the total cost of restoration about $7,500, and $3,000 has
already been received toward that amount. If you would like more information or
would like to contribute to this project, you are encouraged to contact Beth Syperda, Assistant Treasurer, or place your contribution in
the collection designated for the Piano Fund. The goal is to have the funds in hand or committed by the end of June so the
restoration can be completed by the time services resume in the church building
in September.
Have you stopped by the library lately??? Check out one of the new books! The
Twilight of Courage by Bodie & Brock Theone; Double Minds by Terri Blackstock;
At the Sent of Water by Linda Nichols; By Reason of Insanity by
Randy Singer; Every Now & Then by Karen Kingsbury; This Side of
Heaven by Karen Kingsbury; SweetWater
Gap by Denise Hunter; Surrender Bay by Denise Hunter; Kiss by
Ted Dekker.
Directories – Please use the contact directory
you received recently for up-to-date address and telephone number information.
The addresses and phone numbers in the pictorial directory were accurate at the
time that directory was printed or individual pages were added, but that
information changes too frequently to publish a new page in the directory each
time there is a change.
A revised contact directory will be printed in January each year
with the most current address and telephone number information, and you are
encouraged to use that for contacting our members and friends.
Summer is coming! The council has decided that the evening services this
summer will again be held in the tent. We have noted that evening
attendance has declined a bit each year for the last few years. Whether you have attended those services or not, we would
love to hear your ideas on changes that might enhance the evening services. Please
submit any ideas, in writing, to a member of the council or one of the
pastors. We will seriously consider any ideas offered. Thank you.
Spring
is here! It’s time again to order flowers to adorn the sanctuary on
Easter Sunday. You may designate your flower in “memory of” or in “honor of”.
Please pick up your flower after the Easter morning service. A sign up sheet is
at the Welcome Center.
A Defibrillator has been purchased for the church
with the donations received earlier and is now ready for use. We are looking
for volunteers to be trained in how to use it and to operate it when needed;
the cost of the training will be paid by the church. If you would like to be
one of the volunteers or would like to know more about it, you are encouraged
to contact Pastor Bill or the Church Office.
TODAY by email! Did you know you can receive the TODAY devotionals free every day via email?
Sign up today at www.ThisIsToday.net

deposit to Pastor Steve a.s.a.p. Make checks payable to Pine Grove Church.
Prayer is the expression of a human
heart in
conversation with God. The more natural the prayer, the more real He becomes.
Think what we could accomplish if there were more of us praying! Come join us
in the prayer room downstairs every Sunday morning at 8:45 or
whenever you can come. Feel free to walk in anytime and leave when you need
to. Please call Joan Tanis (231-652-5254) or Pastor
Steve (231-652-7121) with your prayer requests.
All building use must be scheduled with the church
secretary, so we can avoid building use conflicts. Thank you.
Are you interested in the best seat in the house? See the sound
crew for details.
Cancellations: When we have to cancel a worship
service, notice will be posted on both channels 8 and 13 on TV. We will also send notice via the email prayer chain.
Spartan
UPC’s
are continuously being collected to help raise funds for the GEMS. Please
remember to clip the UPC from your Spartan products and put them in Tanis’ mailbox.
Returnable
bottles & cans are
continuously being collected to help raise funds for the Cadets. Please bring
your returnables to the Cadet area.
