Welcome! You’re among
friends at Pine Grove Community Church. We’re the
young and old, the experienced Christians, the brand new Christians, and those
just curious about Jesus Christ. We’re families,
singles, students, kids and couples. Wherever you’ve
come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine
Grove! Please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade following worship.
Guests are invited to fill out a pew card and drop it in the
offering plate or at the Welcome Center in the lobby when you stop for an
information packet. If you are a regular attendee of Pine Grove
we would like to provide you with a mailbox and / or a name tag. Please submit
your request to the church office. God bless you and your family.
Nursery
care is offered during the a.m. service in the Church Basement for infants and
toddlers through age 2. Please honor the age limit. Please meet your children
at the nursery area immediately following worship.
Children
age 3 to 6 are encouraged to participate with Children’s Worship. Children
are dismissed after the Children’s Message, and can go downstairs to worship.
Please honor the age limit. Parents: Please meet your children
downstairs, after worship.

CHURCH FAMILY
Pine Grove expresses condolences to Ken, Jan
and Brenda Plakmeyer regarding the death of Ken’s
brother, John Plakmeyer. We pray for peace and
comfort for that entire family.
Pine Grove expresses condolences to Guy & Diana White, Karyn & Bill Staffen and
their extended families regarding the death of Guy’s grandmother and Karyn’s great-grandmother, Anna Whittall.
Anna lived to be 100 years old.
Carolyn Molnar’s granddaughter is pregnant and due in July. She will
marry the father, Jason, in May. In a recent ultrasound they learned it is a girl, whom they will name Annicka Kay, who was developing normally in every way,
except they were unable to get a clear image of the lips. The doctor just
informed them that Annicka may
have a cleft lip. They are not certain. Please pray that she will be
born without this defect, and that Jessica and Jason will have strength and
courage as they wait.
“A heartfelt thank you for those of you dear people who gave of their time
and talents bringing to us great meals, etc., and beautiful cards and visits. A special thank you to Pastor Bill and Sandy. Lavonne is
feeling a little better now and enjoying food. God is indeed good!” Lavonne
& Gary Kanis

Youth Ministry Seminar: Are you involved in or concerned about the effectiveness of
youth ministry in our church? Classis Grand Rapids North is sponsoring a
seminar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 at Mayfair CRC, to encourage and assist
the churches in their youth ministry. Professor Darwin Glassford
of Calvin seminary will lead a discussion on understanding youth culture, which
is similar to looking through a kaleidoscope because youth culture is always
changing. Understanding the cultural context and lives of young people is
challenging on several levels. We must strive to address these challenges in a
constructive manner. Elders, youth leaders, and parents are especially
encouraged to attend this free seminar. Please RSVP to Pastor Steve to
assure sufficient materials are prepared.
Cross Roads meets this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. for Bible
Study.

one of the volunteers or would like to know more about it, you are encouraged
to contact Pastor Bill or the Church Office.

Prayer is the expression of a human
heart in
conversation with God. The more natural the prayer, the more real He becomes.
Think what we could accomplish if there were more of us praying! Come join us
in the prayer room downstairs every Sunday morning at 8:45 or
whenever you can come. Feel free to walk in anytime and leave when you
need to. Please call Joan Tanis (231-652-5254) or
Pastor Steve (231-652-7121) with your prayer requests.
