WORSHIP NOTES

Welcome! You’re among friends at Pine Grove Community Church. We’re the young and old, the experienced Christians, the brand new Christians, and those just curious about Jesus Christ. We’re families, singles, students, kids and couples. Wherever you’ve come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine Grove! Please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade following worship.

 

Guests are invited to fill out a pew card and drop it in the offering plate or at the Welcome Center in the lobby when you stop for an information packet. If you are a regular attendee of Pine Grove we would like to provide you with a mailbox and / or a name tag. Please submit your request to the church office.       God bless you and your family.

 

Nursery care is offered during the a.m. service in the Church Basement for infants and toddlers through age 2. Please honor the age limit. Please meet your children at the nursery area immediately following worship.

 

Children age 3 to 6 are encouraged to participate with Children’s Worship. Children are dismissed after the Children’s Message, and can go downstairs to worship. Please honor the age limit. Parents: Please meet your children downstairs, after worship.

Gloria Schultz has suffered a heart attack and has been admitted to Butterworth Hospital.

 

Pine Grove expresses condolences to Kathie Mendes regarding the sudden death of her brother, Richard. Please pray for peace and comfort for that entire family.

 

Congratulations to Ken & Vicki Postma as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this Thursday, February 12.

Prayer is the expression of a human heart in conversation with God. The more natural the prayer, the more real He becomes. Think what we could accomplish if there were more of us praying! GEMS / Cadet Sub Sale: It’s that time of year again! Help support our GEMS and Cadets by ordering sub sandwiches. This year the sandwiches are made by Frandale Subs in Grand Rapids. Try something new! These are great for lunches and on-the-go! Find an order form located on the table in the lobby. Money due at the time of ordering. Subs are selling for $2.50 each, make checks payable to Pine Grove Church, and pass along to Mary Jo Vander West, Lana Flint or Tom Slendebroek. Ladies…get out that fun red dress! Gents…polish those dress shoes! The Junior High FOCUS youth group will be hosting a candlelight dinner on Feb 14, 2009 in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Join us for a wonderful evening of fine dining and fine fellowship. This event is open to all adults, both couples and singles! Fun!  Fun!  Fun! Come for some warm winter fun. Adult Game Night on Saturday, February 21 at 7:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Bring your favorite game and a snack to share.

 

LADIES, mark your calendar for May 1 & 2 for a Women's Retreat. The retreat will be held at The Shack Bed and Breakfast to accommodate more people. The cost is $55.00 per person which includes lodging Friday night, Friday night dinner buffet, banana split, breakfast buffet, lunch, use of conference room and gratuity. (Scholarships available)  Payment due by February 15, fully refundable until March 15. Please sign up at the Welcome Center. 

 

A trip to Louisville, KY is being planned to attend a portion of the National Gospel Quartet Convention. Date of the trip is Sept. 18-20. The trip includes: 3 days & 2 nights, Round Trip Transportation in a Deluxe Motor Coach, Tickets to over 25 musical shows and over 500 exhibits, Hotel accommodations w/ Deluxe Continental Breakfast included (Bay Mont Properties, very nice), a Sunday morning Worship service at a Local Church and Dinner on the way home. Transportation to & from Convention Center provided throughout the trip. The Cost of the trip is: $349.00 per person (1 bed-Queen or King); $359.00 per person (2 double beds) A sign up sheet will be in the lobby of the church for those interested. 48 spots are available so make your reservation early. Reservations require a $150.00 per person Deposit at the time you register, with the balance Due by July 15, 2009, Deadline for Registration is May 1, 2009. Spartan UPC’s are continuously being collected to help raise funds for the GEMS. Please remember to clip the UPC from your Spartan products and put them in Tanis’ mailbox.

 

Returnable bottles & cans are continuously being collected to help raise funds for the Cadets. Please bring your returnables to the Cadet area.
