Rob and Rebekah,
will you stand now, and in the presence of God and his people respond to the
following questions:
1. Do
you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God sent to redeem the world, do
you love and trust him as the one who saves you from your sin, and do you with
repentance and joy embrace him as Lord of your life?
Answer: I do.
2. Do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God, revealing Christ
and his redemption, and that the confessions of this church faithfully reflect
this revelation?
Answer:
I do.
3. Do
you accept the gracious promises of God sealed to you in your baptism and
do you affirm your union with Christ and his church which
your baptism signifies?
Answer: I do.
4. Do
you promise to do all you can, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to strengthen
your love and commitment to Christ by sharing faithfully in the life of the
church, honoring and submitting to its authority; and
do you join with the people of God in doing the work of the Lord everywhere?
Answer: I do.
[The minister addresses the
congregation]:
Do you, the people of the Lord,
promise to receive Rob and Rebekah, and their
daughter Jordyn. into your fellowship as members
of the body of Christ, and do you promise to encourage them in the Christian
faith and help them in doing the work of the Lord?
Congregation:
We do, God helping us.
The Reception
Minister: Rob
and Rebekah, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I
now welcome you to all the privileges of full communion. I welcome you to full
participation in the life of the church. I welcome you to its responsibilities,
its joys, and its sufferings. "May the God of peace, who through the blood
of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great
Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and
may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory
forever and ever.
Amen"(Heb. 13:20-21).
Congregation: Thanks be
to God! We promise you our love, encouragement, and prayers.

singles, students, kids and couples. Wherever you’ve
come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine
Grove! Please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade following worship.
Guests are invited to fill out a pew card and drop it in the
offering plate or at the Welcome Center in the lobby when you stop for an
information packet. If you are a regular attendee of Pine Grove
we would like to provide you with a mailbox and / or a name tag. Please submit
your request to the church office. God bless you and your family.

Pine Grove expresses condolences to
Thelma Meidema regarding the death of her sister, Doris Hyma, and to Nick DeHaan
regarding the death of his brother, Herman. Please pray for peace and comfort
for these families.
Phyllis Koll’s surgery went very well. They
fused a couple vertebrae in her lower back but did not need to use any rods and
screws. Continue to pray for rapid healing.
Dale Richardson’s surgery: With thanks to God and the surgeon’s skills, they were able to repair
the rotator cuff and expect a good recovery, although it will take at least six
weeks.
Amy Platt surgery
was successful and she is recovering at home.
Please
continue to pray for Carol Engelsman, Gordon Koll, and
others as they continue their cancer treatments.

and repair homes that were damaged by June floods. Participating in this
project are Stan Brummel, Sam and Sharon DeGroot, John and Helen DeJager,

in the Family Life Center.

Vander West house, today.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Coffee after the morning service
will be in the Family Life Center.
Today here will be a
special second offering to benefit the Benevolence Fund. For many reasons financial
needs in the congregation continue to rise. The balance in January was almost $8,000.00
now it is about $1,000.00. The deacons would like to replenish these funds so
that we are able to help others who will be asking for help in the
future. The
Pine Grove Benevolence Fund is used to support those in the church with
financial needs.
A congregational meeting will be held at 11:30, after the worship service, on
November 2. Members will be asked to approve the
budget, which is in the mail slots in the lobby, and to vote for ALL of the
following nominees they believe qualified to hold office: John DeJager, Les Noakes, Ken Plakmeyer, and Steve Tubergen for
elder, and Wayne Arndt, Donna Elenbaas, Dale
Richardson, John Van Luinen, and Rich Wilson for
deacon. We will cast the lot (draw names) during
the November 9 service from all who receive a majority, to select two for each
office.
Even Jesus had a small group of
twelve Disciples: A
small group is a great place to get to know people on a more intimate level.
Anyone interested in joining or forming a small group contact Chris VanderWerf or Pastor Steve.
The Pine Grove Yellow Pages in the pictorial directory are being updated. If you have a business you would like to add to the listing or would like to revise your current listing, this is the time to do it. Please complete one of the yellow forms for this located on the table in the lobby next to the mailboxes.
