INSTALLATION OF ELDERS AND DEACONS

     To the new council members:

Do you believe that in the call of this congregation God himself is calling you to these holy offices?

Do you believe that the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and life?

Do you subscribe to the doctrinal standards of this church, rejecting all teaching which contradicts them?

Do you promise to do the work of your offices faithfully, in a way worthy of your calling and in submission to the government and discipline of the church?

Answer: I do, God helping me.

     To the congregation:

I charge you, people of God, to receive these office bearers as Christ's gift to the church. Recognize in them the Lord's provision for healthy congregational life. Hold them in honor; take their counsel seriously; respond to them with obedience and respect; accept their help with thanks. Sustain them in prayer and encourage them with your support, especially when they feel the burden of their office. Acknowledge them as the Lord's servants among you.

Do you, congregation, pledge to receive them as you have been charged?

Answer: We do, God helping us.

On December 7 there will be a special offering received for Youth Unlimited. Youth Unlimited is a Christ-centered youth ministry that supports over 500 churches across the United States and Canada. Mission Statement: “Youth Unlimited helps churches challenge youth to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and transform their world for Him.”

Thank you for the turkeys you have donated to Sr. Lunch. We are now asking for donations for hams in time for Sr. Lunch Christmas in December. Deadline for ham donations is December 10. You may put the ham in the freezer in the Family Life Center or contact Lola Osterbaan at 989-352-6088.

Caribou Cuisine – Pastor Steve and Caleb are leaving Thanksgiving morning for Saint James Bay, Quebec to go Caribou hunting. They have tags that will allow them to harvest a total of four caribou. The likeliness of harvesting four caribou is high – not because of their hunting skill, but because of the abundance of caribou. If you would be interested in some processed, free, caribou meat or burger, please let Pastor Steve know. One final reminder, there are no guarantees!!

Even Jesus had a small group of twelve Disciples: A small group is a great place to get to know people on a more intimate level. Anyone interested in joining or forming a small group contact Chris VanderWerf or Pastor Steve.

The Pine Grove Yellow Pages in the pictorial directory are being updated. If you have a business you would like to add to the listing or would like to revise your current listing, this is the time to do it.
