WORSHIP NOTES
Welcome! You’re among friends at Pine Grove Community
Church. We’re the young and old, the experienced
Christians, the brand new Christians, and those just curious about Jesus
Christ. We’re families, singles, students, kids and
couples. Wherever you’ve come from, and wherever
you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Pine Grove! Please stay for a
cup of coffee or lemonade at the Family Life Center following worship.
Guests
are requested to fill out a welcome card at the Welcome
Center where you can also receive an information packet. If you are a regular
attendee of Pine Grove we would like to provide you
with a mailbox. Please submit your request to the church
office.
Nursery
care is offered during the a.m. service in the Church Basement for infants and toddlers
through age 2. Please honor the age limit. Please meet your children at the
nursery area immediately following worship.
All
children age 3-7 are encouraged to participate with
Children’s Worship. Children
are dismissed after the Children’s Message, and can go downstairs to worship. Please
honor the age limit. Parents:

YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENT
Senior
High Youth Group: We are planning on going bowling on
Saturday. We
will be meeting at church at 10:45am. You must have your liability
form turned in to be able to join in on the fun.
FOCUS
will meet again on January 9, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
There
will be NO Senior Youth Group meeting today. We will meet again on
January10, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.
Church Family
Sarah Syperda will under go out patient gall bladder surgery tomorrow. We
pray that the surgery will be successful, and the healing quick and painless.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you
make a decision during this service to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior,
please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up a YES pack. This
pack is designed to help you get started on your walk with Christ.

NO
SUNDAY SCHOOL There will be no Sunday School today or
next week. It
will resume on January 10, 2010.
Associate
Pastor Search: A potential candidate
has been recommended by the search committee. He
and his family plan to be here on January 3 to worship with us and to meet the
congregation after the service. At the
candidate's request, so as to maintain confidentiality
for as long as possible, we will not publish his name until next Sunday.
The Pine
Grove Brass is scheduled to help lead
worship next Sunday.
The
Food Truck will be here on January 9. The Senior High Youth Group will be
helping this month.
Do
you enjoy the smiles that children bring? Would you like to find a way
that you can serve the church? Please consider volunteering your time to
help out in the nursery in 2010. It would be very helpful if you
have a child in nursery, if you would give one Sunday to help out. If you

Senior
Lunch at Pine Grove Community Church
We’ve come to
our season finale we wish to bid our friends a fond farewell. The Noon time feast we lay
before you is just a simple way that we may tell our friends age 60 (and older)
come dine, enjoy hear this message we bring. We’ll keep you snuggled in our
hearts until we see one another come spring. Let’s give credit where credit
is due and thank our cooks before we bid adieu. December 30th on the corner of
M-82 & Beech is where we’d like to see you.
Mittens,
mittens it’s time to wear mittens. There’s a mitten here, mittens there, mittens everywhere. But O
Dear! There’s nary a pair to spare. Pine Needles come answer the call to warm the cold
hands of a child who has no mittens. Dear child we heard your call. We’ll
gather at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center on Friday, January 8th. We’ll
pack our machine with a floating foot, thread and cloth that’s pretty or cute
and batting so your mittens will be warm. We’ll bring our “brown bag” as
we’ll sew well past Noon. We’ll welcome new people
weather they sew or not.
Join us
for a fun Movie Night for adults. On Saturday,
January 16, at 7:00pm in the Family Life Center we will show Facing the Giants. Free pop and popcorn provided.
Ladies
Craft Night- Tuesday,
January 26, 7:00pm. We will make some
winter/Valentine's cards with a gift inside. All
ladies welcome.
The
Cadets are selling light bulbs to raise money. There
are order forms in the back of church with various sizes and types for sale. If you

The Junior
High FOCUS youth group is once again
planning on hosting a fun Valentine Dinner fundraiser on Saturday,
February 13th . If you are interested in assisting the teens and becoming
part of our fabulous volunteer staff Let us know! We could use help in the
following areas:
· Planning (a few weeks before the event)
· Setup (evening before the event)
· Kitchen staff coordinators (night of event)
· Childcare Volunteers (night of event)
If you would
like to attend the dinner and be pampered by our very own young Pine Grove
waiters and waitresses, mark your calendars for Feb 13th now!!
The reservation list will be available closer to the event. **Volunteers
should call Jackie Kamp at 231-937-5626
The youth
group room (upstairs in the FLC) is undergoing a few fun renovations and is in need of
furniture donations. If you have the following smoke free, used items, that you
would like to donate, we would very much appreciate the opportunity to take
them off your hands and can gladly "pick up" the items for your
convenience:
· Couches
· Recliners
· End tables
· Coffee table
· Lamps (1 table top and 1 floor)
Among some
other minor changes/beautifications to the room, we are excited to be creating
a cozy reading/meeting area for our teens!! **Please call Jackie Kamp if you have any of the above
mentioned items available for donation at 231-937-5626
Prayer Meeting – “Out of God’s love He burdens us to pray for others so
that in response to our intercession He can pour out blessings on them.” (From Love To Pray by Alvin Vander Griend.) Come
join us in the Prayer Room downstairs every Sunday morning at 8:45 or whenever
you can come. Feel

Spartan UPC’s are
continually being collected as a fundraiser for the GEMS. GEMS,
