Prelude
*Call to Worship:
“Holy Ground”
This is holy ground;
We're
standing on holy ground,
For the Lord is present and where He
is is holy.
This is holy ground;
We're
standing on holy ground,
For the Lord is present and where He
is is holy.
These are holy hands;
He's given
us holy hands.
He works through these hands and so
these hands are holy.
These are holy hands;
He's given
us holy hands.
He works through these hands and so
these hands are holy.

Praises to
Your name, O Lord;
For Your name is great and greatly to be praised.
I sing
praises to Your name, O Lord,
Praises to
Your name, O Lord;
For Your name is great and greatly to be praised.
I give glory to Your name, O Lord,
Glory to
Your name, O Lord;
For Your name is great and greatly to be praised.
I give
glory to Your name, O Lord,
Glory to Your
name, O Lord;
For Your name is great and greatly to be praised.
“Majesty”
Majesty,
worship His majesty.
Unto Jesus
be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty,
kingdom authority
Flow from
His throne unto His own;
His anthem raise.
So exalt,
lift up on high the name of Jesus.
Magnify,
come glorify Christ Jesus, the King.
Majesty,
worship His majesty-
Jesus who
died, now glorified,
King of all kings.

Offering
for Pine Grove Ministries
Offertory Song: “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light
inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most
blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
almighty,
victorious, your great name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting,
and silent as light,
nor
wanting nor wasting, you rule day and night;
your
justice like mountains high soaring above,
your
clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
Life-giving Creator of both great
and small,
of all
life the maker, the true life of all;
we
blossom, then wither like leaves on the tree,
but you
are forever, who was and will be.
We worship before you, great Father
of light,
while
angels adore you, all veiling their sight;
our
praises we render, O Father, to you,
whom only
the splendor of light hides from view.

*Song of
Preparation: “Standing
on the Promises”
Standing on the promises of Christ, my King!
through eternal ages let His praises ring;
"Glory
in the highest!" I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
Refrain: Standing,
standing,
Standing
on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm
standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises
that cannot fail,
When the
howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the
living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing
on the promises of God.
Refrain
Standing on the promises, I
cannot fall,
Listening
every moment to the Spirit's call,
Resting in
my Savior as my All in All,
Standing
on the promises of God.
Refrain
Scripture: Philippians 3:12-18
12 Not that I
have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press
on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself
yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I
press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me
heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us
who are mature should take such a view of things. And
if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already
attained.
17 Join with
others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live
according to the pattern we gave you. 18 For, as I have often told
you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross
of Christ.

*Benediction
*Doxology: “Revive Us Again”
All glory

New Associate Pastor – The Council has discussed the
need for a new person in ministry to take Pastor Steve’s place and has
appointed a committee to conduct a search for such a person. The Council is
seeking someone to continue the work Pastor Steve has been doing in youth
ministry and outreach who is gifted in these areas, either has or is pursuing
at least a Bachelor of Education or similar degree, and is available to work
half-time or more. (By being open to having someone work less than full-time
there is the possibility of employing someone who is still pursuing their
college or seminary degree but available to work half-time or more.) The
members of the Search Committee are: Ron Bailey, Gary Boone, Jerry Elenbaas (Chairman), Shelly Kamp,
Bob Pierce, Beth Syperda, Chris VanderWerf,
and Justine Wells, and although they have already held two meetings, it is
probably not likely that a replacement can be found in time to begin the new
youth ministry season in September. In view of this, Linda Bonnier and Paul
Brock, who have been serving as assistant leaders with Pastor Steve in the
Senior High Youth Group, have agreed to serve as interim leaders of that group.
Justine Wells, our Youth Ministry Intern, will continue her internship with the
Crossroads group, and the Council is working with her and others to prepare for
the up-coming season. You are asked to remember these people in your prayers on
a regular basis. Please pray that they will be led by the Holy Spirit as they
prepare for the up-coming season and that the Search Committee will be led to
the correct person to fill this very important position in the ministry of Pine
Grove Church.
It is not too early to sign up for the Alpha class starting September
17. Stop by the welcome center for information. For those who have
completed the class, think about those you would like to invite. We are
offering it in the evening so people from the community can
attend. Nothing is more effective than a personal invitation. Everyone
is welcome at the first dinner so you can attend with your guest. The
Alpha Class has been a blessing to many who attend Pine Grove.
Tuesday
Golf Scramble
- You are invited to join a small group of would-be golfers for a golf
scramble on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at Birchwood Golf Course which is 5 miles east

you need more information.

and always keep praying for the Saints.” Ephesians 6 :18.

anytime and leave when you need to. Please call Cheryl Hubers,
231-937-4895, or Pastor Steve, 231-652-7121, with your prayer requests.
