My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you.

Baby Grand Piano – Thank you to those who have contributed to this fund. Six hundred fifty dollars has been received in cash contributions since the announcement in the bulletin last month. In addition, the Avink family has decided to use the gifts received in Roger’s memory for this project – about $1,100. Adding this to the initial contributions of $3,000 increases the total received to date to $4,750.  Another $2,750 in contributions will complete the funding needed. Donations of any size are appreciated.

Last month’s bulletin announcement is repeated here for those of you who may have missed it at that time: The Council is soliciting funds to restore a used Baby Grand piano that was recently donated to the church by one of our members. It was owned by the donor’s family since it was purchased new in the early 1900s for her grandmother on her 16th birthday, then passed on to the donor’s mother, and the donor has now given it to the church on behalf of the family. Because of its age, the piano needs to be restored mechanically, and needs to be refinished. It is a quality brand piano, and a professional piano technician has estimated that it can be restored mechanically for about $6,000 which will make it serviceable for another fifty to sixty years. A professional refinisher has offered to refinish it for $1,500.  That makes the total cost of restoration about $7,500, and $3,000 has already been received toward that amount. If you would like more information or would like to contribute to this project, you are encouraged to contact Wayne Hubers, Treasurer, or Beth Syperda, Assistant Treasurer, or place your contribution in the collection designated for the Piano Fund. The goal is to have the funds in hand or committed by the end of June so the restoration can be completed by the time services resume in the church building in September.
